DorWhen Dor arrives in New York City, he immediately gets clothes that fit the era, and finds a job. He works as the apprentice at a clock shop, where the old man that originally trapped him in the cave is his boss. This is where he meets the two people the is supposed to teach, Victor and Sarah. each of them come in search of a timepiece. He learns a bit about each of them from their visits, and watches them more to see their lifestyles. SarahSarah is desperately in love with Ethan, but he doesn't respond to her calls or her texts. She wants to make him happy, so she travels to a clock shop in New York to buy him the Men In Black watch that he told her about the night they were together. She gathers all her savings and takes the train to New York, excited to buy a gift for the boy she loves. When talking to Dor, who works at the clock shop, she says that Ethan is her boyfriend and that she loves him. Later, she gets it engraved with "time flies with you." She calls him to make plans to meet so she can give him her gift. VictorVictor heads to New York City in search of the perfect antique watch to keep with him while he is frozen. He is surprised when Dor knows that he is from France and asks him how he knows this information. After buying the watch, Victor tells Grace that he is stopping Dialysis, but leaves out the details of the rest of his plans. "Sometimes, when you are not getting the love you want, giving makes you think you will."Ethan isn't answering Sarah's texts, but she is still madly in love with him. She thinks that by giving him the Men In Black watch, her feelings for him will be reciprocated. She wants him to love her, and she believes that he does and will, she is delusional about the whole situation, because the reader can clearly see that he does not like her. Giving him material things will not make him like her more. "Time became industry"Because of Dor's discovery, time has taken over every single human's life. The constant worry about being on time, running out of time, wasting time, wanting more time, is on everybody's mind constantly. People will do and spend anything to save time, and business has appealed to that and profited off of that. Everything made in the modern world is in an effort to maximize time and efficiency. What people don't realize is that living in and enjoying each moment isn't that same as worrying abut not making the most of things before you die. Instead of concentrating on the fact that you won't be able to do everything or that you will die one day, focus on the fact that you're living now and that it's a blessing.
